Two guns thought to have been used by bank-robbing fugitives Bonnie and Clyde have sold for $210,000 at an auction. An online bidder from the East Coast bought the weapons believed to have been seized from the outlaw couple's Joplin hideout in 1933, The Joplin Globe newspaper reported. Sold were a .45-calibre, fully automatic Thompson submachine gun – better known as a Tommy gun – and a 1897 Winchester 12-gauge shotgun. Mayo Auction, of Kansas City, was not given permission to release the name of the buyer. The same buyer also bought an 1897 12-gauge Winchester shotgun for $80,000. "We're happy," said auctioneer Robert Mayo, owner of Mayo Auction & Realty, which held the auction attended by more than 100 people. As for the bid prices, Mr Mayo said, "Nothing ever surprises me. " Pre-auction estimates for the Tommy gun had been around $35,000.
